During this tour you will explore the most interesting and beautiful places of both Nicaragua and Costa-Rica. Nicaragua is currently the cheapest country in Central America, yet offers very good infrastructure, the biggest lake - Ometepe, active volcanos and the jewel of colonial architecture - Granada. Costa-Rica, on the other hand, is called Switzerland of Central America. This tour is tailored to include a visit of a carribean beach, majestic volcanoes, light trek in rainforest and exploring fauna and flora. Last few days are dedicated for active or passive relax, departure flight is from San José.

Day 15: PUERTO VIEJO / BOCAS DEL TORO Early morning departure from Puerto Viejo to Panama (approx. 1 hour to the border) to the town of Almirante and then by boat to the island of Isla Colon, free time to relax or optional trip: Boca del Drago and Playa de las Estrellas ..

Day 16: BOCAS DEL TORO trip to the island of Isla Zapatilla or stay by the sea on the island video

Day 17: BOCAS DEL TORO / PUERTO VIEJO departure from the island of Bocas del Toro and return to Costa Rica or by air directly to San José or to Panama City and from there to your destination

Day 18: PUERTO VIEJO / SAN JOSÉ in the morning departure from Puerto Viejo towards the central part of Costa Rica (approx. 5 hours), to San Jose and the airport and departure to your destination

Itinerary

Day 1 - Managua

Arrival in Managua, transfer to the hotel in the city center. Originally founded under the name Villa de Santiago de Managua, MANAGUA has been the capital of the Republic of Nicaragua since 1852, with a population of about 1.8 million. The most sought-after places are the localities of The Ruben Dario National Theater, National Palace of Culture, National School of Dance and Ballet. Managua is located on the shores of the lake of the same name with an area of almost 1500 km2

Day 2 - Granada

In the morning a short tour of the historic city center and then transfer from Managua to Granada, in the afternoon or in the early evening tour of the historic city center, accommodation in a pleasant hotel, in the evening the possibility of an optional trip to the volcano with hot lava

Day 3: Granada

Ride in a horse-drawn carriage in the morning and a tour through the historical city center, cathedrals and other sights. Afternoon possibility of facultative trip to 100 islands in Lake Cochibolca (also Lake Nicaragua) - the largest lake in Central America or to the nearby volcano Mombacho (1,344 m) with reservation or Masaya volcano (possible observation of hot lava). There are "Noches de Serenata" in Granada on Fridays, and you can sample local specialties and admire many bands that play here.

Day 4: San Jorge

Departure to San Jorge in the morning, transfer to the boat and cruise to the island of Ometepe, night in the eco-resort "Charco Verde" or similar hotel
This island, which is one of the largest freshwater islands measuring 276 km2 in the local Indian language means "Twin Hills" after two volcanoes "Conception" (1610 m) and "Maderas" (1394 m) .Ometepe Island was included in the World Network of Biosphere Reserves

Day 5: Ometepe

Optional trip / ascent to Maderas volcano or beach and swimming. This very interesting trip is physically very demanding, starting early in the morning, lasts a total of about 8 hours. Night in a reservation in "Charco Verde" or similar - the possibility of swimming and a walk through the park with a butterfly farm and exotic plants (about 2 hours).

Day 6: Monte Verde, Arenal

Morning transfer by van to San Juan del Sur. A tour of the town that offers a completely unique and authentic atmosphere of the city port ("port city"). It is a picturesque sleepy fishing town and has recently become one of the most popular places that cannot be missed when visiting Nicaragua and the Pacific coast

Day 7: San Juan del Sur

In the morning departure from San Juan del Sur to Costa Rica and arrival in the nature reserve Monte Verde hotel 3 *

Day 8: Monte Verde

Breakfast is followed by a day trip to the Santa Elena Reserve (included in the tour price) where you will get to know the rainforest, walk along the footbridges in the crowns of tall tropical trees, see hummingbirds and rare species of butterflies, breathtaking natural scenery of dense rainforest.

Day 9: Monte Verde, Arenal

In the morning departure from Monte Verde to La Fortuna combined with a trip on Lake Arenal with a magnificent view of the Arenal volcano and the flora and fauna along the shores of the lake. Afternoon tour of the town of La Fortuna and hotel accommodation near the center video Arenal Park

Day 10: Monte Verde, Arenal

All day off in the town of La Fortuna near the Arenal volcano and a choice of faculties. trips according to interest and physical abilities: you can take a half-day trip through lava fields in combination with swimming in hot springs, including a buffet. dinner video or choose for example one of the adrenaline activities "canyoning" or zip line or horseback riding

Day 11: Arenal, Tortugero

In the morning after breakfast departure by minivan from La Fortuna towards the Caribbean coast for about 3.5 hours, followed by a boat trip for 50 minutes. along the river to the village of Tortugero, video which is the largest settlement in the area, accommodation in a simple hotel in the jungle.

Day 12: Tortugero

Free day all day, optional to the national park or turtle watching (especially interesting during the period of laying eggs or hatching of young turtles)

Day 13: Limon

In the morning a trip and departure of boats on the river and neighboring canals. Video towards the largest city on the Caribbean coast, Limon. The journey there takes about 3 hours by boat, offering unrepeatable views into the interior of the jungle and flora and fauna of the coastal ecosystem, you will see spider monkeys and screamers, crocodiles or caimans, lots of birds, turtles and when the rare sloth minivan and transfer (approx. 1.5 hours) to Puerto Viejo and further to the hotel near the beach

Day 14: Puerto Viejo

All day off, rest on the beach, optional trip to the seaside reserve in Cahuita video or to Finca La Isla Botanical Gardens

Day 15: Puerto Viejo

All day rest on the beach, optional trip to Punta Uva - best beaches video: or Manzanillo video: Possibility to extend the stay: 2 or 3 day trip to Panama to the islands of Bocas del Toro video (not included) with the possibility of a flight from Panama directly to San José (or Panama City) and from there continue to your home destination.

Day 16: San José

In the morning departure from Puerto Viejo towards the central part of Costa Rica about 4.5 hours, to San Jose, and transfer directly to the airport and departure to your destination.
